1.3.2 - A refreshed look and a bodyweight fix
GolfBod 1.3.2 refreshes how the app looks and fixes a bug that put a weight on bodyweight exercises. The refresh and the fix ship in the App Store and Google Play update. The last section covers what already reached your phone through in-place updates to 1.3.1, so the version history stays in one place.
A new icon
- The icon is redrawn from one master mark. On iOS 18 it has dark and tinted versions; on Android 13 and later it follows your theme color.
Readable in both modes
-
Light mode is lighter and dark mode keeps its depth. Text, chips, and buttons were checked for contrast in both.
-
Every tinted field, ring, and hairline now uses the same four opacity steps, so the same element looks the same on every screen.
-
Phase and status colors were retuned so build, push, and recover weeks read apart at a glance.
Larger text
- If you use a larger text size in your phone settings, the app now scales with it. Body text scales the most, headings and numbers a little less, and nothing overflows its card.
One set of parts
- Buttons, chips, selection pills, section labels, and cards are single shared components now. Spacing sits on one grid, so lists, cards, and sheets line up the same way everywhere.
Bodyweight exercises never carry a weight
-
Between August 8 and August 26, a few programs assigned a starting weight to exercises done on a bar, a box, or a captain's chair, such as pull-ups and box jumps. The workout card then asked for that weight, and the logged sets carried it.
-
The rule that decides whether an exercise is bodyweight, band, or weighted now also decides whether it gets a starting weight. Ab wheel, stability ball, and foam roller count as unloaded as well.
-
We cleared those weights from every affected program, workout, logged set, and personal best on August 26. Nothing else in your history changed. Adding weight to a pull-up yourself still works the way it did.
Already on your phone since 1.3.1
These reached every 1.3.1 install through in-place updates on the dates shown. No new setup steps were needed.
More accurate workout weights (August 15)
Workout weight recommendations keep the current program's progression separate from older programs, while still bringing your demonstrated strength forward when it belongs.
-
New GolfBod, custom, and coach-assigned programs resolve starting weights from your latest completed work and personal records.
-
Permanent exercise swaps and exercises added from the Program tab use the same history rules.
-
Exercise rotations and progression ladders ignore stale results from an exercise that was replaced or changed from bodyweight to added weight.
-
A conservative starting estimate is used only when there is no demonstrated history to carry forward.
-
The fix: an older workout from another program could override a newer program's correctly chosen weight, which could make an exercise look much too light despite clear recent progress. No reset or regeneration was required.
More reliable programs and sessions (August 16)
-
Creating, evolving, continuing, rerunning a custom program, and starting a coach assignment use the same guarded activation process. A replacement program becomes active as one complete change; if activation fails, your current program stays intact instead of leaving you between programs.
-
Retried generation requests return the same result instead of creating competing programs.
-
Keep Building and Run It Back follow the same rules everywhere they appear, including the correct path for custom programs.
-
Program and workout data is checked as it arrives, so incomplete saved data cannot put the app into an invalid state.
-
Starting from Today, Program, a program reveal, or a coach assignment shares the same workout preparation and recovery rules, and an interrupted draft restores through one path.
-
Online completion and foreground recovery perform the same final steps: program totals, personal records, Activity, Progress, reminders, and workout history update together. A workout that cannot reach the server stays queued for recovery instead of being marked as processed before the server confirms it.
-
Progress totals, weekly volume, streaks, and coach views share the same calculations, so those screens agree after a session.
-
Subscription status is synchronized once for the whole app and refreshed when GolfBod returns to the foreground. Signing in, signing out, or switching accounts clears and adopts pending state through one path. Reset-data and delete-account confirmations use the same protected interaction.
-
Pre-round warm-ups and mobility sessions share their timer and next-exercise behavior, completing a pre-round warm-up updates recent sessions, mobility totals, Activity, and connected health data, and returning to the exercise list no longer creates a separate timer from the guided player.
Banded Lateral Walk (August 21)
- Banded Crab Walks is now Banded Lateral Walk in every program, log, and record.
Plainer wording (August 25)
- Wording across the app is shorter and plainer.
